Wissam Ben Yedder is your MVP against Stade de Reims
In victory as in defeat, he is there! Already involved in 10 goals with AS Monaco in 2022, in all competitions (7 goals and 3 assists), Wissam Ben Yedder once again found the net against Reims on Sunday. Scorer of the opening goal after returning from the locker room (55′), he scored his 15th goal of the season in Ligue 1, as the current top scorer in Ligue 1 never ceases to impress with his consistency.
AS Monaco’s 3500th goal in the top flight
Perfectly picked out by Sofiane Diop, with a clever bit of skill, the Monegasque number 10 made the goal for himself with a magnificent piece of control and shot across goal with his right foot. In the wake of this goal, he could even have as a double, if Pedrag Rajkovic’s post had not kept out his volley from a set piece (58′). No matter, the captain of the Rouge et Blanc still made an impression, and history as well, scoring AS Monaco’s 3,500th goal in the French top flight.
AS Monaco’s ninth-top scorer in Ligue 1
It’s now 63 goals in 109 matches in La Diagonale, and this was his 53rd in Ligue 1, which now makes him the Principality club’s ninth-top scorer in the top flight… ahead of David Trezeguet (52)! Further evidence of his consistency at the very highest level, he is now only the fifth French player to have scored at least 15 goals in four consecutive seasons in the European Top 5 leagues in the 21st century.
In the same breath as Thierry Henry
Bravo Wissam !
