Wissam Ben Yedder is your MVP in Lorient
He repeated his performance from the 2020-2021 season! With AS Monaco trailing two goals to one at the Stade Louis-II against Lorient, Wissam Ben Yedder scored the equalizer in the 92nd minute, just as he had done before. This Wednesday, at the Stade du Moustoir, the Rouge et Blanc were also behind before the Monegasque captain once again took on the role of saviour.
Three behind Christian Dalger
On a perfect cross from Ismail Jakobs, he headed the ball home to beat the former Monegasque Vito Mannone from close range. This goal scored in added time therefore gave a point to the Rouge et Blanc and built on the good momentum seen in the league since the restart (two wins, one draw).

With this goal, his 86th as a Monegasque, Wissam Ben Yedder also moved a little closer to the 89 scored by Christian Dalger, third top-scorer in the history of the Club.
His eighth MVP
Coming into the match on the hour, our number 10 once again showed off his talent as a ‘supersub.’ Since his arrival during the 2019 summer transfer window, he has scored 13 goals off the bench. That’s at least seven more than any other Ligue 1 player.
And this number could have risen to 14 without a decisive intervention from the Lorient goalkeeper, when he had a very good volley (67′). It is therefore logical that he was elected MVP on the AS Monaco App with nearly 53% of the votes — his eighth title this season. Bravo Capi!
