Vanderson: "A sense of realization and a change of mindset"

After the last match against Montpellier last weekend, AS Monaco will head to SCO Angers as part of the 34th matchday of the Ligue 1 season. Before this match, it was the Brazilian Vanderson who spoke at a press conference of the group’s desire to finish the season well.🎙

We were both very frustrated and sad after our performance. Coming off two defeats in a row is never pleasant. There are still five games to go, and we know that in football anything is possible. The most regrettable thing  is not having shown our best selves. This match against Angers is an opportunity to move forward.

The mood around the squad

The team’s initial objective was to qualify for the Champions League and we are still in the race to achieve this, although it is more challenging at the moment. This week, we decided to have dinner together to talk about the end of the season and strengthen our union a little more. There was a sense of realization and  a change in mindset and attitude.

Putting the interests of the Club above all

AS Monaco is a big club with quality, watched by the best European teams. It is therefore obvious that rumors exist. But before my personal interests, we have a common goal, which is to finish in the European places and that requires a victory on Sunday! The locker room is united, we will give everything to raise the bar.

Playing on the right wing

I feel good in this more attacking position. Even if I prefer to play as a fullback, above all I want to help the team. I am ready and listening to the coach. If playing in this position helps the group, then I am ready to accept playing in this position.
