The Tsar is MVP of the team's big win over Lens!
He finally got off the mark! The Principality club’s most decisive player in Ligue 1 last season behind the duo of Ben Yedder and Embolo (8 goals, 7 assists), Aleksandr Golovin waited for the big match against Lens this Saturday (a 3-0 victory), to register his first goal this season in the top flight. Brilliant at the Stade Louis-II, like the Monegasques were a big part of the Matchday 4 Team of the Round, and the Tsar was also rewarded.
A play “made in Adi Hütter” on the break 🌪
On the lookout in the northern side’s half on a good recovery by Vanderson who played Mohamed Camara to launch Takumi Minamino on a rapid counter, the Monegasque number 17 was ideally found in the area. The Russian winger then did not lack the presence of mind to turn Brice Samba from the right and thus double the lead for AS Monaco before half-time (2-0, 36′). A clinical eye, skill, a fine finish, it was all there!

Also involved defensively 💪
But beyond his play itself, with 20 assists in the opponents’ final third, Golo’ constantly troubled the Sang et Or defence, with his skill and his one-touch interactions with Caio Henrique on the flank. He also did important defensive work, with six duels won and four recoveries. It was no wonder then to see him win a first MVP title of the season.
A masterclass from Caio 🪄
With 42% of the votes from you, the Rouge et Blanc fans on the AS Monaco App, the Tsar thus finished ahead of his counterpart on the left flank and serial creator, Caio Henrique (16%), who was the author of two assists from corners on goals by Wilfried Singo and Guillermo Maripan. These assists make him the best in this category currently in the Big 5, and the best at assists from corners in Europe since October 2020 (7), notes Opta.
Quoi de mieux que le premier but de Wilfried Singo sous le maillot de l'AS Monaco pour commencer la semaine ? 😋#MondayMotivation pic.twitter.com/PplHNpnC1y

A consistent wingback 👥
The Brazilian, who flew to join the Seleçaõ for the first time in the company of his compatriot and teammate, Vanderson, therefore deserved to be well placed in this vote. Just like the Ivorian international (24%), the first scorer of the match and imperious on the right side of the Monegasque defense. So congratulations to them both for this XXL performance… and bravo Golo’ for the win! 🏆
