How did you feel about Philipp during your absence?
He was very good. Since his arrival he has proven that he deserves to play at AS Monaco, and we fight every day to play. A goalkeeper, whether it is Philipp, Yann or me, needs confidence once again. I am very happy to be back to winning ways with the team. We were keen to get back on track, it is nothing but happiness and we hope that it will continue in the league from now on. Despite the bad patch, we remained confident and united. Every day, we told ourselves that we had to do the best we could and become better. It is an important result today, so everyone is happy.
What worked well against this Aston Villa team?
Everyone was determined to win, everyone fought like a lion on the pitch. We communicated well and we all had the right mentality, both the starters and the substitutes. We can be proud of that!
What is your goal now in the Champions League?
We aren’t getting carried away, we stay humble and we take it one game at a time. We’ll see what happens next. Inter Milan are a very good team, but we are also one. We know we can get a result there.
Did the returns of Denis Zakaria and Wilfried Singo do some good?
When experienced players like them come back from injury, it always feels good and it was evident today. Wilfried scored and Denis was present in midfield.
