Yes it was not easy. The first ten minutes of the match, Bayern Munich showed an incredible level of intensity. We were maybe a little nervous, but then we knew how to react by having good phases of play. We are rewarded by opening the scoring.
Unfortunately then we lost too many easy balls in our part of the field. That’s why they managed to score three goals before the break, and that’s an area where we can still improve.
You scored the first goal of the match. Can you describe it to us?
On the play, Wissam managed to keep the ball and pass it to me in a good position. I was in position to strike and I managed to slot it inside the side netting, so I’m very happy. My feelings? It was good, but not perfect.
And then at the end we lost 4-2, so inevitably disappointment is the dominant feeling, because I think we could have done better, even we were facing a big team. I am nevertheless happy to have been able to help the team by also winning the penalty.

What can you tell us about facing Bayern Munich ?
They’re a strong team, but we want to get back into the Champions League, so if we want to play in it again, we have to get used to facing these kinds of teams. We must continue to work hard for this.
Tell us about the tactical system in which you find yourself playing behind the striker…
Honestly, it’s the position I prefer to play in, just behind the centre forward. It’s really a position in which I thrive and where I feel good, that’s for sure.
Is the team already looking towards the resumption of Ligue 1 with their trip to Clermont?
Of course, the match is coming very quickly and it is always important to start a season well. We absolutely want to start the 2023-2024 season in the best possible way. That’s why we are going to Clermont to win and bring back the three points.
