Finisher, Big 5, ratio… What do the statistics say about Mika Biereth?
Presented to the press this Monday, two days after his arrival in the Principality, the new Danish striker of AS Monaco has a real goalscorer's profile, as proven by the figures highlighted by Opta.

He has arrived to strengthen the attack of the Rouge et Blanc this winter transfer window. Landing at the foot of the Rock on Saturday to sign with the Club until 2029, Mika Biereth was then presented to the media on Monday, the day before a trip to Reims (20:45). So before his debut with AS Monaco, let’s focus on his profile as a pure finisher, as shown by the statistics compiled by Opta. 📊

He has an interesting profile, because he is a real finisher. I followed his performances in Austria at Sturm Graz, where he was one of the key elements of the club's success, including a cup and league double. He scored a lot of goals, and clearly has the profile of a goalscorer as I said before.

In contact with the best scorers of the Big 5 Leagues 🎯

Coach Adi Hütter had said it, he wanted to strengthen the squad with a real goalscorer. So it’s come to pass with the Danish center forward, who can compare himself to the Top 20 scorers of the European Big 5 in 2024. Scorer of 23 goals in 47 games played with Sturm Graz last year, he is thus neck and neck with players like Mohamed Salah, Raphinha and Alexandre Lacazette.

Goal-scoring (and assist) skills! 🇦🇹

By the way, speaking of the French league, only Jonathan David in Ligue 1 has been involved in more goals (47 goals and assists combined) than Mika has been during the same calendar year (23 goals, 7 assists). Currently joint-top scorer in the Austrian league alongside Ronivaldo (11 goals), in addition to being the third best passer (4 assists), the former Sturm Graz player is truly in the upper bracket of elite strikers.

In battle with Jonathan David ⚔️

With an average of 1.43 shots on target per match (every 90 minutes, editor’s note) at the start of the 2024-2025 season, he is in fact only ahead of Ousmane Dembélé, Mason Greenwood (before the Rennes-OM match, editor’s note), Alexandre Lacazette, Bradley Barcola and Zakaria Aboukhlal. And only Jonathan David has a higher total of goals + assists among Ligue 1 McDonald’s scorers (18 against 22 for the Lille player).

Decisive but also generous 💪

Coming from the “old school” according to his words to the media, the new Monaco number 14 has made the opponent’s penalty area his playground, loving above all to find the nets, even if he is not stingy with his efforts for the team. Decisive every 105 minutes of play this season (goal or assist) and scorer every 134 minutes, with an average of 4.8 balls touched in the area Mika Biereth thus contests more than nine duels per match (9.2).

He feels the shots, knows how to position himself and always has the will to find the net. Mika also does a great job for the team outside the box, and fits perfectly with our style of play, which is similar to the one he experienced in Graz. We are therefore very happy that he is joining us.

It was a showdown that demonstrates the generosity he can show on the pitch, as the Austrian coach reminded the press. And that he may be able to put it into practice this Tuesday evening in Reims, in the round of 32 of the Coupe de France (kick-off 8:45 p.m.).
