Scorers, xG, assists… The (very) good stats of AS Monaco's attack!
They have been irresistible since the start of this 2023-2024 season! Already with ten goals in just three Ligue 1 games, including two away from home, AS Monaco players are getting it done! And for good reason, as Adi Hütter’s men are not only top of the table in France, but among the best in terms of attacking stats. Here’s a closer look at some of the numbers. 📊
The best attack in the Big 5 leagues ⚽
Four in Clermont (in a 2-4 win), three against Strasbourg (3-0) and the same in Nantes (3-3). With ten goals in three days, the Principality club currently has the best attack in the European Big 5 (only 2 rounds have been played in Serie A, editor’s note). Only Brighton in the Premier League (9 goals), are even close in this hierarchy.
…and among the best at creating chances! 📈
The Rouge et Blanc score a lot, but they also create a lot of chances. With no less than 7.44 expected goals in total over the first three games, according to analysis from Stats Perform, AS Monaco are also one of the European teams that generate the most clear chances to lead to a goal, along with… Brighton!
(Already) five different scorers… and one in-form duo 🖐️
This offensive success, resulting from the philosophy of the Austrian manager and fruit of the work done all week in training and during the preseason, is above all collective! Indeed, if Wissam Ben Yedder – current top scorer in Ligue 1 (4 goals) – and Takumi Minamino (3) are leading the way, three other players have also struck: Vanderson and Maghnes Akliouche in Clermont and Myron Boadu in Nantes. Despite everything, the “Wissamino” tandem remains the most prominent among the Big 5 leagues!

• Joint-most goals in the top 5 European leagues this season – Wissam Ben Yedder (4)

And great providers!🎯
There would obviously be no (or few) goals without great assists. And here too, the Club is not lacking. With two assists each after three rounds of play, Caio Henrique and Taki’ are joint top of the league’s assist charts. A special mention for the Brazilian, who was recently called up for his country for the first time, and who has now accumulated 23 assists since the start of the 2020-2021 season in Ligue 1… the best number by a Brazilian playing in the Big 5 leagues over that period! We should also mention Eliot Matazo, who has also added an assist.
➕1️⃣ face au @FCNantes 🙌
Avec 23 passes décisives en @Ligue1UberEats depuis la saison 2020/2021, Caio Henrique devient, seul, le meilleur passeur brésilien des 5 grands championnats sur cette période.

Impressive on the road 🛣
Of the ten goals already scored in the league, seven have therefore been on the road. Cheered in turn by more than 500 supporters parked in Clermont then in Nantes, the Monegasques have seen plenty of success on their travels. By scoring his eighth goal in Ligue 1 away from home, Myron Boadu has thus become the player who has scored the most on the road without doing the same at home in the top flight in the past 75 years.
Meanwhile, our captain scored for the 50ᵉ time on the road in the French top flight (19 with Toulouse, 31 with Monaco). Only Kylian Mbappé (73), Edinson Cavani and Alexandre Lacazette (55 each) have done better in the 21st century, notes Opta.
A spectacular tactical approach 😍
Coach Adi Hütter has repeated since his arrival in the Principality, he wants to develop astyle of “aggressive and attractive” football, which makes the Rouge et Blanc supporters want to come to the Stade Louis-II. This is something good, and his words have been directly transformed into actions with his 3-4-2-1 that sees the teammates of a player who has been a revelation in defence, Soungoutou Magassa, now fully mastered. It’s one more reason to come in numbers this Saturday for the big clash against RC Lens (kick-off 9 p.m.).
