How do you explain your metamorphosis this season?
I just feel great. I feel very good feelings since preseason and at the start of the league. We have a new coach and a different style of play, maybe that’s why my performance is improving. I am happy and I hope to continue like this throughout the season, in order to help the team.
You have known the coach for a long time. Can this help you?
Yes, but I only played with him for only six months at Red Bull Salzburg and I was only 20 years old. But I know what he did in Germany and he is a very good coach.
What are your personal and collective goals?
As a team, we want to finish as high as possible and compete in the Champions League next year. Personally, I want to play well in every game, while scoring as many goals and having as many assists as possible.

What instructions did the coach give you?
They were simple. I had to be solid defensively and try to stay well-positioned as much as possible. I could also create attacks by getting forward myself if there were possibilities to do so. In particular, I was able to cover for Vanderson’s runs. I have only done two training sessions with the group, but I adapted quickly and it worked tonight!
What are AS Monaco’s objectives this season?
The league is still long since we have only finished the second matcday. We must not get too excited and continue to play the same way as this. We will then see where we will be once the league is a little further along.
