The reaction of Thiago Scuro after the draw away to OM
A draw earned with courage. After being ahead twice, the Rouge et Blanc were only able to bring home one point from their trip to face Olympique de Marseille (2-2). Down to ten men quickly and then nine by the end of the match, Adi Hütter‘s side thus showed a good side to their play, despite some frustrating moments, which the CEO of the Club, Thiago Scuro, wished to highlight to the press.Extraits 🎙️
Good evening Thiago. What is your first feeling this evening?
First of all, I have to say that the referee made some decisions that had a big impact on the game and the outcome of the match. In my opinion, he made several mistakes, that’s a fact. I am thinking in particular of Guillermo Maripán’s red card which is very harsh, and of the foul on Kassoum Ouattara in the second half. It’s difficult to explain why there was no foul at the start, and then the Marseille player was only given a yellow card.
Despite the numerical inferiority, your team showed good character…
Indeed, I want to highlight the comportment of our players, their reaction to these decisions, and overall the good work that was done by the staff and the team in this match. We played with one, then two fewer players, but despite this we continued to get forward, without ever complaining. We scored the second goal when down a man and then the players showed courage to finally leave the Stade Vélodrome with a point. Well done to them!
In the cold light of day, what do you remember from this result?
There are a lot of positives to take from this evening. Once again the team’s spirit was very good — we continued to play aggressively despite being ten against eleven for 80 minutes. I hope that we will continue to progress and that this match will serve as a starting point for the rest of our second part of the season.
