In a match that looked like a banana skin, France started with a bang, getting no less than four corners in the first twelve minutes. But after this fanfare start, the teammates of Hugo Lloris dropped back a bit, and Poland created several chances, the most clear through Piotr Zielinski, magnificently saved by the Spurs goalkeeper. A little later, Les Bleus would finally open the scoring thanks to Olivier Giroud, magnificently played in by Kylian Mbappé (1-0, 44′).

The second period began as the first ended: with French domination. Olivier Giroud and Kylian Mbappé in particular give some chills to the Polish defence without managing to find the net. With a single goal lead, Didier Deschamps decided to lock up the midfield by bringing on Youssouf Fofana in place of Aurélien Tchouaméni, who had been booked, in the 66th minute of play for the fourth appearance by our number 19 in this World Cup . He was thus able to be on the pitch for the magnificent double scored by a player #MadeInLaDiagonale Kylian Mbappé to bring the score to 3-0 (74, 90 + 1′).

Axel Disasi came on in the 92nd minute but could do nothing about the penalty converted by Robert Lewandowski in additional time (3-1 90 + 9′). Technically clean throughout, our two players therefore played their part in the victory and in the qualification by Les Bleus for the next round.
