Myron Boadu: "Very happy to score for this magnificent club"

Very happy after having obtained AS Monaco's 83rd victory in European competition in their 200th match, the Dutch striker, having opened the scoring against PSV Eindhoven (2-1), evoked his satisfaction after the match.

He scored his first goal with the Rouge et Blanc in AS Monaco’s 200th match in Europe! Myron Boadu picked the perfect evening to open his account, and lead Niko Kovac’s team to victory against PSV Eindhoven, sealed in the last moments by Sofiane Diop (2-1). Happy to have found the net in his homeland, the Dutch forward expressed his joy in having done so after the match.

I am very happy to have scored a goal for this magnificent club, AS Monaco. It was important for me to score this, my first goal. Too, it was special to score it here in the Netherlands, in my country. Now I still hope to score a lot more goals for the team.

Good evening Myron. How do you feel after victory in a challenging match in which you scored your first goal?

It’s a good victory. It was important to take all three points tonight. And also personally I am very happy to have scored a goal for this magnificent club, AS Monaco. It was important for me to score this, my first goal. Too, it was special to score it here in the Netherlands, in my country. Now I still hope to score a lot more goals for the team.

PSV are a very good opponent. Every time I’ve played against them I’ve had a chance to score. So I’m even happier to have my first goal for AS Monaco against this team. And I hope to be able to do it again in two weeks against them in the second leg at Stade Louis-II. I’m really happy to have scored and to have recorded the victory, which is very important for the team.

What do you think of the character shown by the team to win? Is this a real jumpstart to your own season and that of the club?

This team always plays with a lot of character, each one fighting for the other, in good times as in bad. This is the state of mind of AS Monaco, always having a desire to win, even if it comes down to the last minutes of a match. Confidence in me was always there, whether it was from the coach or from my teammates. It’s important to me, and I’m very happy to have been able to pay it back tonight.

The supporters were fantastic throughout the game. I want to thank them for their support, because they are always there to follow us.
