He discovered the Premier League at 21
Despite his young age, his consistency and level of performance in La Liga opened the doors to the Premier League, and more specifically to Southampton, where he moved in the summer of 2020. Renowned in England for his athleticism and aerial ability, the 1.91m centre-back became an important part of the Saints squad over the years, playing a total of 80 games for the club, including 68 in the Premier League.
Being called up and scoring at the 2022 World Cup
Called up to the national team for the first time in September 2022, the native of Accra was included in Otto Addo’s squad for Ghana’s fourth-ever World Cup a few weeks later.
During the tournament in Qatar, Mohammed Salisu even scored in the 3-2 win over South Korea, his second goal in six appearances for the Black Stars.
