Illustrator @MatsDrawing has a special shirt for Cesc Fàbregas!
He certainly didn’t expect a gift like this — and @MatsDrawing – his username on Twitter – surely did not expect to meet Cesc Fàbregas in person. However, the 24-year-old designer from Toulouse, specializing in the personalization of football shirts, and who had recently had painted one featuring the AS Monaco midfielder, on the back of the new 2021-2022 home shirt, was able to meet one of his idols.
The artist has become popular on social media for his portraits of Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo, Didier Drogba and European champions Italy.

A lovely gift for a 19th season
Coming to Monaco to finish his work and hand it over to the 2010 World Champion himself, @MatsDrawing was able to meet him briefly, as part of AS Monaco’s Media Day. “Wow, fantastic, thank you,” said Cesc Fàbregas. The Spanish midfielder then asked the artist behind this magnificent painting, if he was really the author the work. “You did that, really? It’s incredible. Thank you my friend, it’s very pretty,” said the Monegasque player, who is starting his 19th season in professional football.
It was a fine gift to celebrate his extraordinary longevity at the highest level, well worth a little time in front of the lens. 🙌
