Logically, Maghnes Akliouche is selected as the MVP against OM
Who else but him? He was simply radiant for his first start in Ligue 1 this season, greeted by the Stade Louis-II faithful as he left the pitch. Scorer of a double and with an assist in the big win over Olympique de Marseille (3-2), Maghnes Akliouche was logically named MVP of the match, by you the fans of the Rouge et Blanc. And for good reason!
The trigger for the comeback
Despite OM’s (very) quickly opening the scoring, the Monegasque number 21 immediately appeared dangerous and even drew the match level seven minutes later. On a touch quickly played by Ismail Jakobs, Wissam Ben Yedder cleverly fed the ball into the run of the attacking midfielder trained at the Academy. The rest was a moment of unspeakable beauty: after turning three Marseille defenders and he found the goal with ease (1-1, 8′). Unstoppable!
An assist for Balo’!
It was the first goal at the Stade Louis-II in the league for Maghnes, who had only scored in the Coupe de France until then, against Rodez last year. There was no time to savor it unfortunately, since OM immediately went back in front (1-2, 18′). But it was @Nesmaar who decided to put his stamp on this big match of the 7th round of Ligue 1, it is he who found Folarin Balogun for another equaliser to make it 2-2 (23′), the American scoring with another textbook turn and finish.
A double to ignite the Stade Louis-II!
The first half passed at 100 miles an hour, and the Monegasque prodigy is on the verge of scoring a double on a magnificent volley from the left, kept out by Pau Lopez (24′). It was only a postponement, though, since upon returning from the locker room, the Monegasques took the lead this time as Super Maghnes took advantage of an exchange with the trio of Jakobs-Ben Yedder-Balogun in the air, to catapult the ball into the bottom left corner (3-2, 51′)!

An ovation when he leaves
It was an explosion of joy for the Rouge et Blanc, who hastened to congratulate their young teammate who had just played an (almost) perfect match, to lead them to victory. The public at Stade Louis-II also celebrated him as they should when he left the field. The scoreboard would no longer change and Adi Hütter’s players could celebrate this victory and going top of the table with their fans.
Decisive every 30 minutes in Ligue 1
The final point of a very beautiful copy rendered by Maghnes Akliouche, logically acclaimed on the AS Monaco App by the supporters of the Principality club: 96% of the votes! A great reward for the new French U-21 international, who has now been involved in four goals, or one every 30 minutes in Ligue 1 since the start of the season (3 goals, 1 assist). No player born in the 21st century has done better!
Quelle sensation 🤩
Superbe victoire d’équipe ! ❤️🤍 pic.twitter.com/QnRB5xjcOL— Maghnes Akliouche (@Nesmaar_A) October 1, 2023
It was also a masterclass complemented by significant defensive stats working for the collective (2 recoveries, 1 interception, 1 tackle). He deserved a place in the Matchday 7 team of the round and a first MVP title this season. Daghe Maghnes! 🇲🇨
