Maghnes Akliouche extends his contract through 2028

Maghnes Akliouche extends his contract through 2028
AS Monaco is pleased to announce the extension of Maghnes Akliouche’s contract for two additional seasons. Trained at the Academy, the 22-year-old attacking midfielder is now tied to the Club until June 2028.

A pure product of La Diagonale, Maghnes Akliouche will continue writing his story in the Principality, it having started seven years ago. From joining the Academy in 2017 to his first match with the first team in 2021, through the signing of a professional contract in February 2022 and a very successful 2023-24 season, the attacking midfielder has been gradually climbing the ladder towards the highest level in the La Diagonale jersey.

A very successful 2023-24 season

Well launched last year with a promising start to the year, exemplified by his goal scored on the first matchday against Clermont (4-2, August 13 2023) or his double in the win over Olympique de Marseille (3-2, September 30 2023), Maghnes Akliouche established himself as a strong and consistent part of the attack of Adi Hütter, alongside Aleksandr Golovin and Takumi Minamino.

Scorer of 8 goals and 4 assists in 31 games, the young left-footed player fully contributed to the Monegasques’ finishing in second place in Ligue 1, directly qualifying for the Champions League.

Progress confirmed with Les Bleuets

This season also saw Maghnes Akliouche join Thierry Henry’s French Espoirs. Called up for the first time in September 2023, the native of Tremblay-en-France (Seine-Saint-Denis) has since established himself in the squad and was logically selected for the Olympic Games of Paris 2024 alongside Soungoutou Magassa and Chrislain Matsima, as a reserve.

This progression is also linear, since the player trained at the Club has already proven himself with the French U20 team in the 2021 season before winning the Tournoi Maurice-Revello a year later, finishing as the best passer in the competition.

Currently with the French Olympic Team (3-0 winners against the United States as they started the competition on Wednesday evening), he will find, after the competition, the Monegasque squad and a Rouge et Blanc jersey with the number 11.

AS Monaco wishes Maghnes the greatest success! 🇲🇨
