Ismail Jakobs joins Galatasaray
Ismail Jakobs arrived at AS Monaco in the summer of 2021, after making his Bundesliga debut at the age of 20 for FC Köln. Having just been crowned European Under-21 champion with Die Mannschaft, Ismail Jakobs discovered the French league and played 39 matches on the left flank during his first season in Monaco, thus contributing a third place finish achieved in 2021-2022.
More than 100 matches in Rouge et Blanc
After participating in 41 matches in 2022-2023, he would play 23 matches during the 2023-2024 season as the team finished second in the league. In total, the defender has played 105 matches (1 goal, 8 assists) with the Rouge et Blanc, at the left-back or winger position, performances which also allowed him to join the Senegalese national team.
Alongside Krépin Diatta, “Iso” Jakobs played the 2022 World Cup in Qatar (reaching the round of 16) then the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (round of 16). After the Bundesliga and Ligue 1, Ismail Jakobs is preparing to discover the Turkish championship with Galatasaray, the reigning champion.
