His performance against Reims
These kinds of matches give you a lot of confidence, whether before going on internnational duty or not. I am very happy with the way I played, but to be honest I am already looking forward to Sunday’s match against Metz. Reims is already behind me. In any case, I think it helps you play well when you have a sense of rhythm. It is obvious that it is easier to play from the start, rather than to attack straight away when you come on for the last 20 minutes of a match.
His first goal for AS Monaco
As I said, a goal always gives a lot of confidence, and it was important for me to score my first. But once again on Sunday no one will think about this goal anymore when we play against Metz. On the other hand, I will give everything to have another very good match. We must continue to work like this.

His attacking style
The left-back position involves knowing how to do both, defending and attacking. And it’s true that I feel good in this role as a wingback, which means that I can play more offensively. It’s also the system that demands that, and I feel comfortable there. The coach has a philosophy and a different way of playing from last season. This therefore allows me to be decisive for the team, whether by providing assists or by scoring like in Reims.
Senegal and AFCON
It is a great pride for me to represent Senegal, and it would obviously be a dream to compete in a competition like the Africa Cup of Nations. I think we have a very good team, a very good group this year. So I really hope we can win this trophy again, after the victory in 2022.
