AS Monaco announce the departure of Guillermo Maripán to Torino FC. After five full seasons with the Monegasque club, the 30-year-old Chilean central defender will now experience Serie A.

Originally from Vitacura, Chile, Guillermo Maripán arrived in Monaco in the summer of 2019 from Deportivo Alavés (La Liga). The 1.93m tall Chilean international defender represented the Principality club 150 times and scored 13 goals.

Three podiums and a French Cup Final

Guillermo has contributed to the successful 2023-2024 season of the Rouge & Blanc, which ended with a second-place finish in Ligue 1. At AS Monaco, Guillermo ‘Memo’ Maripán also reached the podium in the 2021 and 2022 seasons, and the final of the Coupe de France in 2021.

After starting his career in Chile with Club Deportivo Universidad Católica, then moving on to Spain with Deportivo Alavés (La Liga), and AS Monaco, where he showed his full potential, Guillermo is now set to take on a new challenge in Italy with Torino FC, who finished 9th in the latest Serie A season.

AS Monaco thanks ‘Memo’ for his commitment and professionalism over the past five years and wishes him all the best for the rest of his career!
