Golovin, Singo, Balogun… What numbers will change for AS Monaco?
As every off-season, certain players on the AS Monaco squad have decided to opt for a new number for the back of their jersey. Here's an overview of the upcoming changes in preparation for the start of the 2024-2025 season.

They have already completed half of their preseason. Having just returned from their training camp in Austria, at the end of which they faced Sturm Graz in Windischgarsten (2-2) the Rouge et Blanc will now attack the second part of their preparations for the upcoming campaign. But before thinking about the first round of Ligue 1 McDonald’s against Saint-Etienne, it’s time to change numbers for Aleksandr Golovin and his teammates.

Golo’ takes a legendary number… and makes someone happy!

Indeed, it is the Russian playmaker who has made the most notable switch, since he has just swapped the 17 he had worn since his arrival in the Principality for the… 10! It’s tailor-made for him, and alos leaves free a number coveted by Wilfried Singo. Indeed, the Ivorian defender has now recoverd the one he wore with Torino, just before joining AS Monaco.

A change as well for Balo’

Another major change was for Folarin Balogun – who will soon find himself back in Adi Hütter’s squad after his participation in the Copa America, having exchanged 29… for 9! The latter was released by Myron Boadu, who changed to 23. Since we are in our twenties we should also note Mamadou Coulibaly, currently on a program of rehabilitation, who has chosen to wear 28 from now on, instead of 42, which he had worn against Toulouse on his big debut in Ligue 1.

Maghnes changes as well

Finally, when Maghnes Akliouche returns from the Olympic games, playing with a France side led by Thierry Henry, he will wear number 11, having worn the number 21 until now.

These are the main changes this preseason, obviously awaiting further modifications between now and the start of the league play and indeed the start of September and the end of the mercato.
