Folarin Balogun scores again at the Copa América

Folarin Balogun scores again at the Copa América
On the other side of the globe, the Monegasque striker scored again with the United States against Panama but was unable to prevent his team's defeat (2-1) during the second matchday of the group stage of the Copa America.

He has been on fire since the start of the competition! After scoring against Bolivia as the USMNT kicked off the Copa América, Folarin Balogun did it again against Panama, becoming the tournament’s top scorer with two goals.

A sensational goal!

Only a few minutes after the sending off of Timothy Weah (18′), Balo’ would allow his team to take the lead. Following a failed clearance by the Panamanian defense and after a one-two attempt, the attacker decides to launch a powerful strike from outside the area. His rasping effort found the goal after going in off  the post (1-0, 22′). Unfortunately for him, the United States would subsequently lose the match, 2-1.

MVP of the match

Despite a victory for the 43rd-ranked nation in the world, it was our Monegasque who was elected player of the match, rewarding his fantastic goal and his contribution throughout the match (100% of duels won on the ground, 3 fouls drawn). With this setback, the United States will play a virtual qualification for the quarterfinals against Uruguay, on July 2 (3:00 AM), as they hope to win on the final day of the group stage. Daghe Balo’ 👊
