It's two for Maghnes Akliouche, MVP and in L’Équipe's Team of the Round!

He put on another masterclass on Saturday night in a crucial match! Decisive for Les Espoirs during the international break, Maghnes Akliouche was involved in all the best moments in the Derby against Nice (a 2-1 win), and was voted MVP of the match as a result. And for good reason, as from kickoff, the Monaco number 11 was involved throughout.
Involved in all the shots before his sublime deflection 🎯
In the 17th minute of the game, he instantly took over a ball from Takumi Minamino which was deflected at the last for a corner. Then he almost beats Marcin Bulka with a pass from Denis Zakaria (37′).
Having had little success so far, like the team, he would however prove decisive as soon as the break came back. It was he who provideda (subtle) deflection for Mika Biereth’s magnificent equaliser under the bar before the hour mark (1-1, 56′)!

An architect for Embolo’s winner! 🤝
It was then more of the same but in reverse order, when the playmaker trained at La Diagonale took advantage of a through ball from the Dane to challenge the Nice goalkeeper (60′). A second goal for the Rouge et Blanc was close, but it was finally necessary to wait until the last quarter of an hour, to find the magic duo link in a one-two, just before Maghnes passed to Breel Embolo, solid and decisive on the turn (2-1, 73′)!

Already with an assist in the reverse of the Derby, the young Monegasque prodigy is the second AS Monaco player to be involved in at least three goals in the same Ligue 1 season against Nice since 2013, after Aleksandr Golovin (also 3 in 2019-2020), specifies Opta.
A seventh MVP of the season! 🏆
Decisive and author of a complete match (3 successful tackles, 8 dribbles, 9 duels won, 7 recoveries, 3 final passes, 4 shots, 2 big chances), our young star logically won the title of MVP of the match, with 82% of the fan votes on the AS Monaco App.
It was even his seventh such trophy this season, making him the most-honored player in the squad, and he also earned a place in L’Équipe’s team of the roun, with a score of 7 from the sports daily. Daghe Maghnes ! 🇲🇨
