Big 5, efficiency, performance… The crazy stats of the Monegasque attack!
In top form since the start of the season, the Principality club is off to a perfect start. At the end of the season’s second international break, AS Monaco are top of Ligue 1, with 17 points from eight rounds of play. A symbol of this good form, the attacking prowess of the Rouge et Blanc has already seen them score 21 goals, which makes it the best attack in the league, but not only that. Here are some stats which demonstrate the fine form of the Monegasques, thanks to Opta. Focus 📊
One of the best attacks in the Big 5 🇪🇺
The machine is running at full speed, and it is starting to become one of the most efficient in Europe. With 21 goals scored in Ligue 1 Uber Eats, AS Monaco is in fact the fourth best attack in the five major European leagues, tied with Inter Milan, Barça and Brighton. Only a Bundesliga-dominated podium has done better, led by Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen (23 each), and Stuttgart (22).
Danger that’s constant and comes from everywhere 👥
Among the 19 players used by coach Adi Hütter since the start of the season, 10 of them have already scored at least one goal. In addition, six Monegasque players have at least one goal and one assist on the clock in this 2023-2024 season

Impressive precision 🎯
The goals are numerous, but not trivial. The Rocher club is also the team which has taken the most shots in Ligue 1 (45), tied with Rennes. But also the team which has the third highest percentage of shots on target (40.9%), just behind Reims (41.6) and Toulouse (41.1). The Rouge et Blanc are finally those who have the most on target average over an entire match (5.63), with only Rennes doing as well.
Maximum efficiency! 🔥
In addition to putting almost everything on target and often finding the net, it doesn’t take much for our Monegasques to be decisive. On average, it only takes five shots for the Principality club to score, the lowest rate in the league, explains our partner Opta.

Permanent danger 🌪
The best attack is perhaps the high pressing carried out by Adi Hütter’s men. AS Monaco is in fact the team that scores the most after a defensive action (8). The team’s recovery is good, the finishing too, but the build-up is just as good as it has created the most chances leading to a goal (35).
Plenty of good work at set pieces 🦶
A fine pass from a corner, a ball to the head of Memo Maripán, and a ball in the back of the net. This is a situation that the Rouge et Blanc have mastered to perfection. Tied with Nantes and Toulouse, AS Monaco is one of the most effective teams from set pieces, with three goals already this season. Lille are the only team to have done better in the top flight (4).

Plenty of fluidity in the passing game 🔁
To be so successful, you need technical mastery and to be able to rely on good ball circulation. On this, Soungoutou Magassa’s teammates are doing pretty well, since AS Monaco rank second in the number of passes on average before a goal (25) — only two behind Paris Saint-Germain (27).
A clinical display from our youngsters 👶
Surrounded by experienced players, the team’s youngsters are also gaining in maturity and efficiency, and demonstrating the full extent of their talent. This is particularly the case for Maghnes Akliouche who, since the start of the season, has scored 100% of the shots he has attempted, and has already scored 3 goals in Ligue 1 Uber Eats.
A sharp heading game ⚽️
Exemplified by the brilliant header by Wissam Ben Yedder against Reims, on a fine ball from Ismail Jakobs, our Monegasques are as skilled with their heads as they are with their legs. They are the team who has scored the most in this way in the 2023-2024 season (5).
