Chrislain Matsima extends his contract through 2026
Hacing arrived at the AS Monaco training center in 2017, Chrislain Matsima has now signed an extension with the Rouge et Blanc through June of 2026. He started against Metz (2-1) a few days after scoring with France’s U-21s; the Monegasque defender (1.93m) has already played, at the age of 21, nearly 40 professional matches with his training club.
Nearly 40 matches in Rouge & Blanc
Shortly after signing his first professional contract, in 2020, the native of Colombes (Hauts-de-Seine) took his first steps in Ligue 1. The fans saw him for the first time on September 27 against Strasbourg, in a match won 3-2 by the Monégasques. Shortly thereafter, he played the entire match in a 3-2 win over Paris Saint-Germain.
The defender, capable of playing centrally or as a full-back, has taken part in 38 matches with the Rouge et Blanc, including 5 in Europe. This season, he has played in four matches, with as many victories, and an assist pour Aleksandr Golovin in the 2-1 win over FC Metz.

Decisive with the French U-21s
Chrislain has been a regular with the French team at U16, U17, U18, and U20 — the young defender has experienced all the youth age groups, wearing his country’s jersey 44 times before being called up for the first time, last August, by Thierry Henry, for the U-21s.
A starter three times for as many victories with the team, Chrislain was decisive, like Maghnes Akliouche, during the last set of matches by scoring a goal against Cyprus, thus participating in the biggest win by Les Espoirs in an official match (9-0).

After Soungoutou Magassa in April, Maghnes Akliouche in May, and then Edan Diop and Yann Lienard in August, AS Monaco has now extended the contract of a fifth “Made in La Diagonale” player in the first team. AS Monaco wishes Chrislain every success in Rouge et Blanc. Daghe Chrislain! 🇲🇨
