Axel Disasi: "Leaning on our strength of character to end the season"
This was a key result at the start of the run-in! At the end of a completely wild match, the Rouge et Blanc had beaten Strasbourg (4-3), helped by the team’s young players. Now three points from second place, the result was the most important thing in terms of the table. And this is what Axel Disasi, who spoke in the mixed zone, would take away from the match. Extraits.
Hello Axel. As a defender, I imagine that it does not please you to concede three goals even if the victory was key at the end.
It’s frustrating to concede so many goals but we’ll settle for the win and the three points. We are in the run-in so we are only looking for the result. In the first half, we could have done a lot better. At half-time, we said to ourselves that it was not enough and that we had to do more without letting up.

We managed to score three goals in this spell. It’s a good thing and we will rely on our strength of character to end the season. This evening, there was good and less good, we must look at what was poor so as to be more consistent. Even if today there was a victory, it is always annoying to concede three goals.
Tell us about the performances of Eliesse Ben Seghir and Edan Diop…
Having very young players in the squad is a strength, even if at times it can be problematic. Today, they made the difference at times when we were in difficulty, it shows the squad we have. I am happy for them because they work hard on a daily basis and have integrated very well. I hope they will continue to score lots of goals. We are lucky to have them with us, we will have to rely on them to hope for something good come the end of the season.
Deux buts en 4 minutes qui font le plus grand bien 👊

You’ve come back to within three points of second place, it’s a good result in terms of the table…
The important thing in the run-in is the result. Today, this allows us to stay close to our competitors. You have to hold that and have this guideline in mind to be able to grab more points.

How do you look at this after having succeeded in the run-in the last two seasons?
We know that over the last two seasons, we had two very strong run-ins. But I want to say that each season is not alike. This year, once again, it will be something else entirely, even if we can build on what we have already achieved. These are different challenges and different competitors, it is up to us to build on our strengths and correct our weaknesses.
