Aurélien Tchouameni is voted MVP and to L'Equipe's team of the round
If we were 50 or over, we would say that Aurélien Tchouameni was “in the oven and in the mill” this Sunday in Nantes (0-0). But we can instead use the term “master class” to describe the performance of the Monegasque midfielder at La Beaujoire. Captain of the Club for the first time at kick-off, at only 21 years and 347 days, the French international dazzled everyone.
First of all in this regard were you, the Monegasque supporters, as you voted him MVP of the match on the AS Monaco App, with 58% of the votes, ahead of Sofiane Diop (17%) and Alexander Nübel (9%). Then there were the journalists, as he appeared in L’Equipe’s team of the round for Matchday 20 in Ligue 1.
An “octopus” on the pitch
Aurélien Tchouameni, who recently found to be the best at ball recovery in the world in 2021 by Sofascore, lived up to his reputation as an “octopus” on Nantes’ pitch, with 10 duels won, 106 successful passes out of 119 attempted and above all 143 balls played, a personal record in Ligue 1. It was a massive performance which logically earned him all these honors. Congratulations Aurélien!
