Aurélien Tchouameni in the Ligue 1 Team of the Season
He finished the season with a splash! Again having recovered more balls than any other player against Lens (0-0), with 13, Aurélien Tchouameni was rewarded for his status as the best player in this statistic in Ligue 1 in 2021 (187 balls recovered). Already named the best young player in Ligue 1 two days ago, thanks to an impressive season, which saw him notably score his first goals with AS Monaco (2 goals against Marseille and Saint-Etienne, 3 assists), the midfield partner of Youssouf Fofana now has been named to the UNFP Ligue 1 Team of the Season.

Next Up: The U-21 Euros
At just 21 years old, the player who most used by Niko Kovac in the league this season (3071 minutes of play), will soon join Les Espoirs with plenty of honors. On May 25, he will travel to Clairefontaine along with Benoît Badiashile, Axel Disasi and Youssouf Fofana, all of whom have been selected to play in the second stage of the U-21 Euros, beginning with a gala quarterfinal against a Dutch side featuring Lille’s Sven Botman.
Two UNFP awards to end the season!
It is therefore with the feeling of duty accomplished, after the qualification of AS Monaco for the preliminary round of the Champions League, as well as having been honored with two UNFP awards, that Aurélien Tchouameni will be able to approach his first major competition with the France U-21 team. While waiting to be able to welcome him back at the end of June for the resumption of training for the Rouge et Blanc, the Club wish him every bit of success and the same results as he had during the season… Bravo Tchouam’ !
