AS Monaco to face Union Saint Jean in the Coupe de France
The Coupe de France adventure will begin with a trip for AS Monaco! Placed in Group A alongside clubs of the same level and lower levels down to Regional 1, the Rouge et Blanc drew the competition’s underdog this Monday evening, during the draw for the Round of 64 of the competition. They will indeed face Union Saint Jean and will therefore have to travel to Occitanie.

A big difference to start
The match will take place on the weekend of December 21-22, with a schedule that is yet to be set. Note that this is obviously the first match between the two clubs in official competition. The Union Saint Jean club, which defeated FC Versailles (National) in the previous round, is currently playing in Regional 1, the sixth French level, where it currently occupies 13th position in the Occitanie regional group.

Drawing inspiration from the match against Lens last season
To advance to the next round, the Monegasques will be able to draw inspiration from their last campaign in the Coupe de France. They then overcame RC Lens on penalties at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, on their entry into the competition (2-2, 5-6 penalties). However, it will be a completely different challenge for Adi Hütter’s men now, facing an amateur club, who will want to continue their epic. See you in just over two weeks! 🏆
