Merci Youss’!

Merci Youss’!
AS Monaco announces the departure of Youssouf Fofana, 25, to AC Milan. After a full four and a half years in the Principality, the French international midfielder joins one of the most successful European clubs in Serie A.

In La Diagonale, Youssouf Fofana played 175 matches (7 goals and 15 assists) between January 2020 and May 2024, including in Europe Cup (22 matches) and participated in successful campaigns with AS Monaco.

A Coupe de France final and three podiums

In May 2021, the Monegasque squad  reached the final of the Coupe de France and finished on the podium in Ligue 1 (3rd), and again in 2022 (3rd) and 2024 (2nd). His development and performances within the Club opened the doors to the French national team for him, with a first cap in September 2022, a little over two and a half years after his arrival from Racing Club de Strasbourg.

Runner-up in the 2022 World Cup

Youssouf Fofana, who now has 21 caps, was then part of the adventure that lead Les Bleus to the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar, and then the semifinals of Euro 2024.

After learning the ropes in the Paris region, blossoming at the professional level with Strasbourg, and completing a long spell with AS Monaco, the 25-year-old midfielder is preparing to discover a new experience in Serie A.

AS Monaco thanks Youssouf Fofana for his commitment and professionalism for more than four years and wishes him the best for the rest of his career!
