AS Monaco continues its unbeaten run after being held by Lille
Down a man for the last 30 minutes of the match, the Rouge et Blanc managed to hold on to a draw against a tenacious Lille side and thus continue their unbeaten run under the watchful eye of President Dmitry Rybolovlev.✍️
The context 📅
After two weeks without a match over the international break, AS Monaco returned to league play with a clash against Lille. Leaders and undefeated after seven matches (6 wins, 1 draw), the Rouge et Blanc wanted to continue this and consolidate first place. But the task was not easy since Les Dogues are on three wins in a row, including a prestigious one against Real Madrid.

For this big match to return from the international break, Adi Hütter had to compensate for the absences due to injuries of Mohammed Salisu and Folarin Balogun. To replace them, the Austrian decided to start Wilfried Singo in defense and George Ilenikhena in attack in a 4-2-3-1 formation. He would be supported by Takumi Minamino, Eliesse Ben Seghir and Aleksandr Golovin. Jordan Teze would start as right back.

A very tactical first half
Lille played more in transition and on one of these, Jonathan David forced Radoslaw Majecki to make his first save of the season (11′). Monaco reduced to ten men after an hour of play
The second half started on a similar basis with the Monegasques positioned high up the pitch and having the ball. The first chance came for our Golden Boy finalist, who placed a header over the bar (56′). There was no better luck for Taki’, whose shot was also goes over the goal (58′). Unfortunately, the Rouge et Blanc found themselves a man down after a second yellow for Jordan Teze (61′).

Captain Zak’ is very close to being the hero
Although we were down a man, the physiognomy of the match did not change even if Edon Zhegrova tried his luck from 25 meters, an effort that was wide (67′). Shortly thereafter, Krépin Diatta, who had come on a few moments earlier, shot just over (72′), as did Breel Embolo, who had come on at the same time, but was flagged offside (83′).
