AS Monaco finishes their training camp in Spain with a draw against Sevilla!
After eight days of intensive training in Benidorm, the AS Monaco players were in action at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium to take on Sevilla FC. And Philippe Clement’s men drew (1-1) in their first warm-up match before the second half of the season resumes later this month. At kick-off, Philippe Clement played a traditional 4-4-2 with the duo of ‘Yedderland’ in attack, supported by Aleksandr Golovin and Maghnes Akliouche on the wings.
FULL-TIME 🤝🔚

A first half full of chances
If the start of the match was rather calm in terms of chances, apart from an effort from Ruben Aguilar (12′), the game came alive after half an hour of play. More enterprising in their play, the Monegasques had several chances, but were denied by an excellent Marko Dmitrovic who kept out attempts by Aleksandr Golovin (36′) and then Wissam Ben Yedder (39′).
The captain, who was facing his old team, then thought he had opened the scoring just before half-time but he was flagged offside (44′). In the aftermath, Suso, with a nice shot from outside the area, created the biggest chance for the hosts, and it took help from the post to prevent the Spanish side getting the first goal (45′).
44' Pas de but pour @WissBenYedder qui est finalement signalé hors-jeu.
Le capitaine de l'AS Monaco est malgré tout chaleureusement applaudi par les supporters de son ancien club 👏

Félix Lemarechal is generous, and Gelson Martins is clinical
At half-time, Philippe Clement took the opportunity to make plenty of changes, including the entry of Cercle Brugge defender Jasper Daland, who, as part of the partnership between the two clubs, was a part of the training camp in Spain.
Many #MadeInLaDiagonale players like Yann Lienard, Soungoutou Magassa, Eliesse Ben Seghir and Félix Lemarechal were also on the pitch, and it was the latter who impressed on the hour mark. Following a high recovery thanks to his hard work, he managed to dribble past the opposing goalkeeper before playing the ball back to Gelson Martins who finished with a nice shot from the right (59′).
59' But pour l'AS Monaco 🔥
Felix Lemarechal récupère le ballon, dribble le portier adverse avant de servir parfaitement @GelsonMartins_ qui conclut d'une belle frappe 🔝

Back to Monaco
It was a deserved opener since the Rouge et Blanc had the best chances in this match. They were scarcely troubled, but they were nevertheless surprised by a stroke of genius from Pedro Ortiz, who scored a goal from 40 meters (74′). After this match, dropped in intensity with the two teams undoubtedly not the sharpers at their start of ‘preseason’
The match therefore ended with the score of one-all in the first friendly match for Philippe Clement’s men. Now comes the end of the training camp in Spain and a return to Monaco this Thursday to continue their work and prepare for the next two matches, scheduled for December 16 in Empoli, and the next day against Fiorentina. Daghe Munegu!
