Scorer of the game's first goal, Aleksandr Golovin is the MVP in Brest
His play allowed AS Monaco to find the break! In a first half that was closely fought and lacking in chances against Brest, as halftime approached, Philippe Clement’s men went ahead thanks to the inevitable Aleksandr Golovin (39′). After receiving a cutback from Wissam Ben Yedder, the Russian was quick to slot the ball home, leaving no chance for Marco Bizot.

Involved in a goal in each of his last three matches
The Tsar scored again against Brest after doing the same in the reverse fixture and now has six league goals (his best in a season). It is also the fifth time that he has managed to open the scoring, an area where only Neymar and… his teammate Breel Embolo do better in Ligue 1 (six each).
He made his 164th appearance and is also one of the in-form players in the squad since he has now involved in a goal in his last three games (a goal against Paris last weekend and an assist in Clermont two weeks earlier).
Plenty of hard work defensively
It was an extremely important goal – his 20th in the league since his arrival, a record for a Russian – and helped guide his team to an important win in Brittany (2-1). In addition to his efficiency in front of goal on Sunday, the midfielder made 59 touches and completed 76.3% of his passes.
But more than his offensive contribution, it was defensively that he was impressive. He indeed made seven ball recoveries (third among outfield players behind Caio Henrique and Youssouf Fofana (8)), managed a tackle, made three interceptions and a defensive clearance.
A sixth MVP award
It is therefore logical that he was elected MVP of this trip to Brittany, collecting 65% of the votes. Honoured for the sixth time this season, he is now the second most popular player in the squad behind Wissam Ben Yedder, who has already won ten times.
This Sunday, he finished far ahead of Axel Disasi (12%) and his captain (9%). Also of note was fourth place for Chrislain Matsima, who set up Myron Boadu, and author of a successful comeback. радость Aleksandr!
