Aleksandr Golovin is your March MVP by Bang & Olufsen
He was key in an excellent month for AS Monaco. With two wins and two draws, the Principality club finished undefeated for March, moving back on to the podium in third, and Aleksandr Golovin was one of the main reasons for this success. A consistent starter, he was sometimes even played deeper in midfield, as a number 8.
A multitasking Golovin
Positioned next to Youssouf Fofana against PSG and in Metz, this did not prevent him from having complete matches. Against the Capital club, a match which saw the Rouge et Blanc obtain a draw and keep a clean sheet (0-0), the Russian midfielder, for example, played 12 duels and won 7 of them.
This is without forgetting his three interceptions and his four tackles made. Not stingy with his defensive work as usual, he also displayed a great range of passing, taking advantage of seeing the game in front of him.
Golo’ in assist mode in Metz
At the Stade Saint-Symphorien, our number 17 brought the 500 Monegasque supporters present in the away end to their feet for the 10th anniversary of Supp’Lorraine. With the Rouge et Blanc already ahead 2-0, he sent a superb cross to the far post aiming for Vanderson, who finished with a volley across goal to make it 3-0 after 15 minutes in an eventual 5-2 win. It was his sixth assist of the season which adds to those he had done before the break.

The most decisive midfielder in the league
Against Lorient at the Stade Louis-II, Golo’ in fact sent in a perfect cross to Youssouf Fofana in the area, who only had to place a diving header to allow AS Monaco to take the lead. Involved in 12 goals in Ligue 1 this season (6 goals, 6 assists), he has been the joint-most decisive midfielder in the league alongside Téji Savanier, notes our stats partner Opta.

A 200th appearance and the Player of the Month
This remarkalble consistency thus earned him the title of MVP by Bang & Olufsen for March, as voted by the Monegasque fans on social networks for the fourth time. Moreover, he also played his 200th match in the colors of the Principality club in Strasbourg this month, thus winning the vote with 51% of the votes, ahead of Maghnes Akliouche (1 goal, 1 assist) and Radoslaw Majecki (2 clean sheets). Bravo Golo’ ! 👏
