Akliouche and Magassa are in the final squad for the Olympics!
They will be two Monegasques defending the colors of France in Paris! Maghnes Akliouche and Soungoutou Magassa are in fact part of Thierry Henry’s final squad list for the 2024 Olympic Games. It’s a great accomplishment for the two players from the Academy, a few months after the finishing in second place in Ligue 1 with AS Monaco.

Akliouche in boss mode, Magassa as replacement
The attacking midfielder trained at La Diagonale is therefore among the 18 players selected, a place that he won thanks to his best season with the Principality club (eight goals and four assists). As decisive with the Rouge et Blanc as for his country, Maghnes has also been present in the French squad since the first list announced by Les Bleuets‘ coach.

For his part, Soungoutou Magassa was called in as replacement following the absence of Maxime Estève in central defense. Trained as a defensive midfielder, he then proved during the friendly match against Paraguay (a 4-1 victory) that France could count on him. It is therefore logical that he also appears in the definitive list made by Thierry Henry.
Matsima in the reserves, Millot called up
There’s also Chrislain Matsima, present in the Olympic pre-list after his good loan to Clermont, as one of the four reservists likely to be called up in the event of a last minute withdrawal. AS Monaco therefore counts three players from its Academy at the club Club in the squad, but there’s a fourth player #MadeInLaDiagonale with Enzo Millot (Stuttgart), who played for the club from 2017 to 2021, who will also be part of the adventure. Good luck guys! 🤞
