Adi Hütter : "We're very disappointed for our fans"
A disappointing setback. Despite being back in the race for the podium after winning the Derby against Nice, the Red and Whites unfortunately lost out at home to a clinical Toulouse FC side (1-2). Very unsatisfied with the result, Adi Hütter spoke to the press following the game.🎙️
Good evening coach. To start can you give us some news about Mohamed Camara?
He has a haematoma, but we don’t know more than that, he’s due to have tests tomorrow. We’ll know more after that. We’re missing a lot of players at the moment through injury and suspension. But I want to congratulate Mamadou Coulibaly who made a very good Ligue 1 debut after Mo”s exit.

How do you explain the team’s inconsistent performances?
We’ve had too many ups and downs this season. When you look at this match and the one against Le Havre, We had 33 shots on target in total, but only scored two goals. You can’t be that wasteful and then concede easy goals from set-pieces. It’s very hard to analyse what’s going on. You can talk about tactics, but when you get that result, it’s because we’re not competitive enough.
How do you explain the lack of efficiency?
Sometimes you can explain certain situations, sometimes it’s more difficult. We had a lot of chances to open the scoring, we created and missed a lot of situations. Unfortunately we didn’t manage to score more, and it’s impossible to win in those conditions. Toulouse were very clinical.
What did you think of Toulouse?
They played a very good game at Benfica, despite the final result. They surprised us at two set-pieces, with players who were very comfortable in these situations, as we knew. We were better in the game than Toulouse, but they were better than us from set-pieces, I have to admit.
How can you cut out mistakes?
We made mistakes, everyone knows that. We need to let the night pass so we can think about the match and analyse it tomorrow. We put in a lot of energy in the second half to get back into the match, but we took a goal at the worst possible moment. The only thing we lacked was effectiveness, I repeat.
Is a podium finish still within reach?
I’ve always believed in the fact that we can fight for Top 3 until the end of the season. But when you make easy mistakes like today, it’s hard to get results that come close.
When I look at the game, we conceded very few chances, but Toulouse managed to be effective. They also blocked our attacks well. We weren’t close enough to our opponents on second balls, and that’s not acceptable. Once again, we can’t concede goals like that.
How do you explain the results at home?
Just one point from twelve at home in our last four games is not satisfactory. It’s a shame, especially as we’re performing well away from home. Sometimes it’s hard to understand how we can win a very difficult game in Nice and then lose against Toulouse.
We’re very disappointed for our fans, who pushed us right to the end to encourage the team to come back. What is certain is that our home performances are not good enough at the moment.
Now it’s time for a clash, with a tough trip to Lens…
I hope to see a Monaco side that creates chances, but this time converts them! At the top of the table, all the teams are very close, and obviously Lens is a direct opponent. We’re very disappointed to have missed the chance to move up to second place today. In any case, Lens are a very strong team and it’s going to be a great game.
