Adi Hütter: “Play a perfect match to come away with three points”
A replay of their performance from the first leg. This will be the objective of the AS Monaco players as they head to the Vélodrome to play Olympique de Marseille (Saturday, 9 p.m.). Previously 3-2 winners ath the Stade Louis-II, they will perhaps need a slight psychological advantage in order to bounce back after the defeat against Reims two weeks ago. It is with this in mind that the coach Adi Hütter gave a pre-match press conference. 🎙️
This week’s work
It will be a big match, a big game bewtween two historic teams in this league. We have prepared the team well this week to go there and win. Concerning the subject of (player) sales, this does not change anything in our daily life. The objectives remain the same and we must remain focused on that.

Rumors in the press
I’ve been in the business for 15 years, I know it’s part of the game. I’m open to criticism but I love my team and my daily life. We started very well in the first nine games, and it’s true that we’ve been less good since. For example, I was not satisfied with the matches against Lyon and Reims. However, we have progressed in the Coupe de France and are only one point off the podium. We are working hard every day to progress.
Disparities with the first half of the season
There are some differences between the two parts of the first half of the season. It’s a point of, we took seven points less. The coaches are looking at us more, we have more absences, but we don’t look for excuses. This is the process, we are working hard at the Performance Center and we have to prepare for the big matches to come.
The return of Eliesse Ben Seghir
Eliesse is back and will be in the squad this Saturday, everyone is happy that he is. He is someone who will be able to help us during the next set of fixtures. I am also happy he has renewed his contract. He has only made two appearances this season due to injuries, he will need playing time for him to regain 100% of his abilities.
L’AS Monaco est heureux d’annoncer la prolongation du contrat d’Eliesse Ben Seghir, milieu offensif de 18 ans formé à l’Academy, jusqu’en 2027. ✍️🇲🇨

Wissam Ben Yedder’s clinical finishing
It’s always the case for Wissam. I’m very happy with his performances, he has scored seven goals in our last four matches. He is a finisher who is clinical with both feet and his head. He is in very good form, we are very satisfied with him.

Preparing for this big match
We know that they will have absentees but the players present are good, notably Aubameyang, Vitinha and Veretout. We will have to play a perfect match, we have prepared the team well for that. We will have to be careful defensively and be sharp on transitions to come away with the three points.
The team’s tactics over the next few matches
Against Rodez, I made several changes at the back after the Reims match as I was not happy. The match was rather positive on this point. We can also count on the return of Mohammed, who will be present in the squad. Denis (Zakaria) can play as a number six or a defender, it depends on the opponents. Chrislain was also very good overall. We have a lot of young players, who sometimes perform well, sometimes not. It’s part of the process.
Maghnes Akliouche’s areas for improvement
Overall, I’m happy with his progress and development. For example, we were able to see all his potential in Rodez where he was great during the first 30 minutes of the second period. He then made simple mistakes but he is a player capable of making the difference.
