An 80th goal in Ligue 1 and another MVP for Wissam Ben Yedder in Ajaccio
Each week, he pushes “the limits” a little more, as he likes to repeat. And each week he writes the history of AS Monaco a little more. The trip to Ajaccio this weekend for the 28th Matchday of the Ligue 1 season was no exception. He scored his 17th goal of the season in the top flight to open the scoring, as Wissam Ben Yedder has again added to his impressive stats with the Rouge et Blanc.
A little more history
By perfectly following up Guillermo Maripán’s blocked header half an hour into the game (0-1, 27′), the Monegasque number 10 indeed led his partners to a ninth away victory of the season. But Captain’ Wiss has above all become the third player in history to reach 80 goals with the Principality club in the league, after Delio Onnis (157) and Lucien Cossou (97).
Face à l'@ACAjaccio, @WissBenYedder est devenu le 3e joueur de l’histoire de l'AS Monaco à atteindre les 8⃣0⃣ buts en @Ligue1UberEats.

Top scorer in the Big 5 leagues since the World Cup
Our partner Opta specifies that he is also the top scorer of the five major European leagues since the World Cup, with 11 goals already! It’s a number that proves the form which Wissam is currently in, in addition to showing his consistency at the highest level over the last eight years!
14 MVPs this season
With a goal every 87 minutes in Ligue 1, he also remains the attacker with the best ratio in the elite, in addition to being still in the race for the podium (he’s currently joint-third, tied with Alexandre Lacazette).
It is therefore not surprising to see him win another MVP, his 14th of the season, on the AS Monaco App, with 77% of the votes, ahead of Mohamed Camara and Guillermo Maripán. Bravo Wissam! 🇲🇨
